Neo-Soul Guitar Licks

    Neo-soul guitar licks, broken down

Neo-soul guitar lives between chords and melody: double stops, hammer-on fills, slides into extended voicings. These collections teach that language one lick at a time — each one short enough to learn in a sitting and musical enough to use the same evening.

    FAQ

    What level do I need?
You should be comfortable with basic chord shapes and the pentatonic scale. Everything beyond that is explained in the breakdowns.
Do I need to read notation?
No. Every lick comes with video and tab: Guitar Pro files with the book, PDF scores with Licks ['22–'25], and interactive notation on Soundslice.
Which one should I start with?
If you want a method that leads from the traditional sound to modern ideas, start with the book. If you want a large pool of ideas to dip into, take Licks ['22–'25]. They don't repeat each other.
    Do you teach?
I don't give private lessons, but I run group workshops online from time to time. Send a message if you'd like to hear about the next one. Send a message →
